Useful Conversions

We can all get confused by the variety of units of measure in use.

Here are a few helpful conversions

Air Volume
1L/sec = 3.6m³/hr = 0.06 m³/min = 0.001 m³/sec = 2.12cfm
1m³/hr = 0.0166m³/min = 0.00027m³/sec = 0.27L/sec = 0.58cfm

Air Pressure
1Pascal = 0.10197mmWg = 0.01mb = 0.004015insWg

Air Changes
1. Calculate volume of room in m3 (HxWxL) i.e. 3m x 2.5m x 2m = 15m3
2. Multiply by required air changes i.e. Offices = 6
3. Volume x Air Changes = Fan performance (minimum) 15m3 x 6 = 90m3/hr
4. Select fan of suitable performance.
